The low carbon content of this electrode (0.04% C) preserves the intergranular corrosion resistant properties of the weld deposit and ensures a higher ferrite content than standard 309-16; most 309L-16 weld deposits are greater than 8 FN. Weld deposits exhibit high resistance to cracking and oxidation at temperatures up to 2000F.
